Description

Half anatomical curiosity, half desk toy: an oversized skeletal finger, knuckles and all, articulated so that it moves in the hand rather than sitting rigid on a shelf. It is the kind of object everybody who walks past the desk picks up, and puts back down reluctantly. The subject is simple enough that it lives or dies on the sculpt, which is why the taper of the bones, the swell at each knuckle and the socket at the base where a hand would continue matter more than on a busier model. Printed plainly it reads as a specimen cast; there is little else it could be mistaken for. It earns its place around Halloween, on a horror shelf, in a biology classroom, or as an accessory to a costume, and it makes a cheap and genuinely funny gift for anyone whose taste in fidget toys runs macabre. Children love it for exactly the reasons adults pretend not to.
