Articulated Cobra

Reared up with the hood spread, the cobra is the snake everybody can name. It is the shape used on temple carvings, on flags and in every story about snake charmers, and one of very few animals whose threat display is more famous than the animal itself. As a printed model it belongs to the flexi family. It moves in the hand rather than sitting rigid, and settles differently each time it is put down, which makes it a fidget object as much as a toy and the sort of thing that gets picked up by everyone who walks past a desk. Snakes suit articulated treatment because the body is already a series of segments, and a cobra gives you a proper subject rather than a generic serpent. Good for children who are into reptiles, and equally good as a faintly menacing ornament for grown-ups.
