Articulated Jesus Mecha Christ

A joke that commits properly. Take the pose everyone knows from stained glass and roadside statues, arms open in benediction, halo behind the head, and rebuild the whole figure out of panelled plating and blocky mechanical joints. What you get is somewhere between a devotional icon and a Sunday-morning giant robot cartoon, and it is funnier for being made seriously. It belongs to the same shelf as the articulated dragons, octopuses and axolotls that end up on every maker's desk: a jointed figure meant to be picked up, turned about and fiddled with while you think. Less an object of reverence than a conversation starter for whoever wanders past.
