Badger Knight in Fluted Plate

A badger-muzzled knight in fluted Gothic plate, hands folded down over a sword pommel, standing on a shallow octagonal plinth with a carved rope moulding. The whole figure is sculpted as a piece of late-medieval Flemish boxwood carving: channel work rippling down the pauldrons and cuisses, tool facets left along the flutes, end-grain darkening where the cuts run deepest, walnut inset at the buckle plates and at the grip. Under the steel there is barely any animal — a blunt snout tipped forward, blunt claws at the gauntlet cuffs, and past that it is armour and a stiff carved mantle. The boots and the hem swell into the plinth as continuous stock, so there is no seam where the figure meets its base. The outline is one closed mass, broad at the shoulders and tapering to the boots, which means from across a room it reads as a stout column with a beast's face on it. The palette the design calls for is honey and butter-cream on the raised flutes, amber-brown in the recesses, near-black at the walnut, with a warm ochre glow along the polished edges. He was carved for a niche in a reliquary. Whatever the niche held is long gone, and nobody has told him. One part. The model was not cut, so it arrives whole: 202,390 triangles, watertight and manifold, bounding box 77.186 × 70.885 × 170 mm. It fits the build plate it was checked against. Estimated print time is 414 minutes. Filament weight is derived from extruded volume rather than reported directly: 136.91 g. Material and settings will move that. Overhanging surface is 6.04 percent of the total, and minimum wall thickness measured on the mesh is 1.331 mm. No assembly. It is one part with an integral base, and the underside is cut wide, level and flat. Buying the file lets you print it for yourself, as many copies as you like.
