Cylinder 4 Vase

Fourth in a run of straight-sided vessels, this one keeps the brief deliberately narrow: an upright cylinder with a worked surface, no flare, no taper and no ornament competing for attention. It is what you reach for when a room already has plenty going on and wants something calm on the shelf rather than another talking point. Plain cylinders are harder to get right than they look. Too narrow and the thing reads as a tube, too wide and it reads as a bin, and the proportions here sit in the useful middle ground, which is why the shape survives being printed large or small. Dried stalks, pampas and bare branches suit the geometry, though it stands happily empty as an object in its own right. Minimalist, Scandinavian and Japandi interiors are its natural home.
