Description
Named for one of the better-known budget FDM machines, this is a mug conceived as a printer's object rather than a potter's: a straight-sided vessel with a looped handle, the sort of shape that shows plainly whether a bed is level and a first layer clean. It belongs on a maker's desk rather than in a kitchen cupboard. Printed mugs of this kind tend to spend their lives holding pens, brushes, hex drivers or a rattling handful of spare nozzles beside the machine that produced them, and there is a long tradition of running one as a shakedown piece on a printer that has just been rebuilt or retuned. For anyone with a Vyper on the bench it is a nod to the machine itself. For everyone else it is a simple, honest desk vessel with no pretension about it.
