Roots Hands Vase

Two ideas collide in this vessel: the tangle of a root system and the shape of human hands. The body is wrapped in sinuous, twisting forms that read as roots where they climb and as fingers where they close around the profile, so the piece shifts depending on where you stand and how light falls across it. This belongs at the surreal, faintly unsettling end of home decoration — the shelf where you keep objects guests pick up and turn over before putting down again. Dried stems, grasses and pampas suit it particularly well, since organic filler carries on the same visual argument the vessel is already making. Left empty it holds its own as a sculpture. One file, and a strong candidate for printing at several sizes to build a grouping rather than a single statement piece.
