Vase Hands

Sculptural hand vessels have been a fixture of interiors shops for years, the cupped or clasped hands rendered as a vase, half ornament and half quiet joke about holding something. This is that idea as a printable file, with the modelled hand forms making up the body of the piece and the mouth rising out of them. It belongs in a hallway, on a bookshelf or at the end of a mantelpiece, somewhere the outline can do its work from across the room. Dried grasses, pampas, seed heads and bare stems all sit well in it, and it carries a shelf perfectly happily on its own as figurative decor. Sculptural enough to start a conversation without being awkward to live with, and an easy way to introduce a bit of human form into a room otherwise full of straight lines.
