Frequently asked questions
What is Gridfinity?
Gridfinity is an open-source modular storage standard by Zack Freedman built around a 42×42mm grid. Bins click into baseplates so your workshop storage stays organized and rearrangeable.
Are these bins compatible with standard baseplates?
Yes — the generator implements the standard base profile (0.8mm / 1.8mm / 2.15mm chamfer stack, 41.5mm footprint), so bins fit standard Gridfinity baseplates and stack with the optional lip.
Does it support magnet holes?
Not yet — v1 generates plain friction-fit bins, which work great on a desk or in drawers. Magnet and screw holes are on the roadmap.
What print settings should I use?
Standard PLA settings work: 0.2mm layers, 2 perimeters, 15% infill, no supports. Bins print fastest with a 0.6mm nozzle if you have one.
