Bordeaux the Octopus Wine Bottle Holder STL

A bottle slides in through the coiled arms, and the octopus looks like it is hauling it up off the seabed. Bordeaux is a working bottle cradle disguised as a sculpture. The lower arms arch away from the body to form an open channel, and the upper tentacle curls over and across it so the neck is trapped and the bottle sits raised at an angle with the mantle behind it. Every arm is lined with crisply modelled suckers that graduate from broad discs near the body down to tiny cups at the tapering tips, and the pose has real sea-creature tension - the animal reads as bracing against a current rather than sitting still. Empty, it still holds up as a sculpture, so it earns its place on a kitchen counter, bar cart or dining shelf whether or not there is a bottle in it. It is an obvious gift for wine drinkers and cephalopod obsessives alike, and printed small it works as a chunky paperweight or a tabletop sea monster. At 100% the model is roughly 166 x 208 x 209 mm, sized around a standard 750 ml bottle. Measure yours before scaling - Burgundy and sparkling bottles are noticeably wider than Bordeaux. Print notes • Print at 100% for a standard 750 ml bottle, and scale up a few percent for wider Burgundy or sparkling shapes. • Print solid, or add weight low in the base arms. A full bottle is heavy and a light hollow print will tip forward. • Expect overhanging tentacles and undercut suckers: tree or organic supports are essential, and resin holds the sucker detail far better than coarse FDM. • Slice on an angle so support scarring falls on the tentacle backs rather than the detailed undersides. • A green-grey base coat with a darker wash sunk into the suckers, then a light drybrush on the raised skin, brings out the texture beautifully.
