Christmas Ornament Cookie Cutter

Bauble-shaped biscuits are the easiest win of the December baking session. The outline is instantly readable, children recognise it before a drop of icing has gone anywhere near it, and it stacks neatly in a tin. This cutter gives you the classic tree-decoration shape, round-bodied with the little cap and hanging loop across the top, so the finished biscuit reads as an ornament rather than a plain disc. They take icing well in batches, whether that is a piped snowflake, a swirl of colour or a scattering of sprinkles pressed on while the glaze is still wet. Push a hole through the loop before baking and they hang on the tree, or double as edible gift tags on top of a parcel.
