Cookie Cutter Schaf

Schaf is German for sheep, and a sheep is what this cutter stamps out: a woolly body in profile, stubby legs beneath it, and the small head turned to one side that stops the outline reading as a cloud. It is a shape with a long baking season. Easter and spring fairs are the obvious slot, but the same sheep turns up in nativity biscuit sets at Christmas and on farm-themed birthday tables the rest of the year.
