Description
A butterfly caught mid-flutter, wings thrown open in delicate filigree. This decorative butterfly fans four wings out from a slim central body, each panel pierced with long teardrop openings that trace the vein structure of a real monarch. The lower wings are rimmed with rows of tiny drilled dots — the pale spots that run along a monarch's hindwing margin — which gives the piece a lacy, almost cut-jewellery quality. It has a low raised profile rather than full depth, so from across the room it reads as a clean silhouette, while up close the open fretwork catches the light. It makes an easy, cheerful accent for a shelf edge, a windowsill, a bookcase or a child's bedroom, and the flat back means it can be tacked or glued to a wall as a small piece of spring décor. A cluster of three or four in different colours looks lovely strung together as a mobile or garland. Print notes • Prints flat on the bed, largest face down — no supports needed for the open wing panels. • Thin, lacy geometry: add a brim and slow the first layer so the narrow ribs adhere cleanly. • Two or three perimeters keep the fine veins strong; drop infill low since it's mostly outline. • Paint it in monarch orange-and-black, or run it in translucent filament so light glows through the cut-outs.
