Christmas Bauble Display Tree

Most bauble collections spend eleven months in a box and the twelfth one buried in the branches of a full-size tree. This is a stand built to do the opposite: an open, tapering frame with arms stepping outward as they descend, each one there to carry a single ornament so nothing overlaps and nothing disappears into the foliage. It suits the decorations that actually deserve looking at, whether that is inherited glass, hand-painted pieces picked up on holiday, or the lopsided ones the children brought home from school. On a hall table, a mantelpiece or a kitchen dresser it stands in for a proper tree in a flat or a small room, and in a larger house it gives the hallway or the landing a second point of Christmas without any needles to hoover up afterwards.
