Christmas Tree

Not everyone wants a live spruce shedding needles into the carpet by Boxing Day. A printed one solves that neatly: a seasonal centrepiece that goes up in December, comes down in January and spends the other eleven months in a box without dropping anything on the floor. This is a stylised conifer for a shelf, a mantelpiece or a hall table. The tiered, tapering outline is the bit that reads as Christmas from the far side of a room, and it belongs to the same family as the turned wooden Scandinavian trees that come out with the advent calendar. It suits flats, student rooms and offices where a full tree is impractical, and makes a straightforward secret-santa gift. Run it at more than one scale and you end up with a small forest for a windowsill, a bookcase or the top of a radiator cover.
