Description
A vessel whose walls are worked into unfurling fern fronds, the leaf shapes spiralling up the body so the silhouette shifts as you walk past it. Ferns are a natural subject for a printed vase, because the repeating frond is already rhythmic and the ribbing it creates gives an otherwise plain cylinder something for the light to break across. It belongs on a windowsill, a bathroom shelf or the middle of a kitchen table, somewhere it gets looked at rather than shoved behind the cereal boxes. Dried stems, grasses and paper flowers suit it, and it holds its own standing empty, which is more than a good many decorative vases manage. The piece comes from Clockspring3D, a designer with a long run of botanical homeware behind them, and it sits at the more restrained end of that work.
