Dark Crystal Lamp

Cut like a mineral specimen rather than a manufactured shade, this one takes the shape of angular crystal growth: facets running at odd angles, planes meeting along sharp ridges, the whole silhouette reading like something prised out of a cave wall instead of bought in a shop. The word dark in the name is doing mood work rather than colour work, and the mood is gothic, geological and faintly occult. It belongs on a bedside table, in a shelf corner, or in an alcove that needs an object with some weight to it, and it keeps company happily with fantasy books and tabletop collections without tipping into looking like a stage prop. The pack runs to nine files, so it goes together as a multi-part build. Left unlit it still holds its own as a small sculpture.
