Description
Clocks that show their workings have been a favourite of makers since the first skeleton movements, and this is a design in that tradition: a timepiece whose face is given over to interlocking cogwork rather than a plain dial, so the mechanism becomes the decoration. It reads best in rooms that already have a bit of workshop in them — a study, a garage wall, a home office, the shelf above a bench. The toothed geometry gives it an industrial, faintly steampunk character that suits exposed brick and metal fittings, and it makes far more of an impression across a room than a conventional wall clock does. Eight files put it in project territory, a build for someone who wants a piece of visible engineering on the wall and enjoys the assembly as much as the finished object.
