Description

Meet the world's most nervous houseplant. "Globophobia" is a cartoon cactus mid-panic, leaping back from a grinning orange balloon that drifts far too close for comfort. The character is a plump green succulent with skinny bendy legs, two little arms clutched to its chest, a crown of red bloom-petals flopping over one eye, and a wide-mouthed shriek of pure dread. Spines are literally flying off it in fright, scattered through the air, while the smug balloon wears a cheeky little face of its own. It is a genuinely funny piece of character sculpture — comic timing frozen in 3D. This one is all about personality on a desk or shelf: a gift for the anxious friend, a quirky plant-lover's ornament, a maker's paint-and-display challenge, or a conversation-starter next to your real (calmer) cacti. Print notes • The raised kicking leg and outstretched arms need supports — resin gives the cleanest faces and fingers, but FDM handles it fine at 0.12mm with paint in mind. • Print the balloon separately and mount it on a clear rod or wire so it appears to float. • Multi-part or multi-colour AMS printing suits the green body, red flower and orange balloon; otherwise it is a rewarding hand-paint. • Hollow the body and add a drain hole if resin printing to save material. • Scale to roughly 100–150mm tall for the best comic presence.
