Knoted Hearts Ring

A band that never quite settles into being one loop. Two slim rails run side by side around the finger, then part company at the shoulders and climb into a loose tangle across the top. Up there the cord doubles back on itself two or three times, each turn passing over or under the next and leaving open windows between the strands. The lobes are broad and rounded rather than tight, so the knot spreads sideways across the finger instead of standing up like a bezel. The cord is faceted along its length, cut into flat planes rather than smoothed to a true round. Nothing about it is symmetrical, and the tangle is resolved fully in three dimensions, so there is no flat back to the piece.
