Lamp Avengers

A superhero lithophane that only reveals itself when you switch it on. In daylight the shade is a plain white cylinder with a faint embossed scene; light it from inside and the layered relief blooms into a comic-book tableau — Captain America mid-stride with his shield raised, flanked by fellow Avengers framed in panel borders like a page torn from a crossover issue. It sits on a chunky black base cut with a radiating chevron facet pattern, so the whole thing works as a sculptural object even before the bulb glows. It is a proper statement lamp for a fan's bedside table, a games room, a home-office shelf or a kid's superhero bedroom, throwing a soft warm glow through the printed scene. Print notes • Print the lithophane shade vertically in white PLA at 0.1 mm layers — thin walls are what let the light through, so don't over-thicken. • Use plenty of perimeters and 100% infill on the shade wall for even, shadow-free illumination. • The faceted base prints happily in black at a coarser 0.2 mm; the chevrons hide layer lines. • Fit a cool-running LED, never a hot incandescent, and leave venting at the base.
