Ornateelephant

An ornate horned beast smothered in swirling filigree. Cast here in soft sage green, this reclining figure is billed as an elephant and carries the big drooping ears and heavy body to match — but a pair of long, ridged, backward-curving horns sweeps up from its brow, pushing it into gloriously mythical territory. Nearly every surface is engraved with dense paisley and scrollwork — curling vines, teardrops and spirals flow across the flanks, shoulders and haunches — while the stubby legs finish in plain rounded feet and the creature rests with its forelegs tucked beneath it. It is a display ornament first and foremost: a statement shelf, mantel or console piece with an Indian, boho-decorative flavour that suits a living room, hallway or styled bookcase. Print notes: • Resin captures the fine engraved swirls far better than FDM; if printing filament, use 0.08–0.12 mm layers and a fine nozzle. • Orient with the horns angled up and supported underneath — they are the most fragile, overhang-heavy part. • Support beneath the belly, chin and raised horn tips; the tucked legs are largely self-supporting. • Print solid or high-infill for a reassuring desk-weight, then finish in bronze or verdigris, or drybrush antique white to lift the carved detail.
