Penny Cup

Every house has the spot where coins accumulate: a windowsill, the corner of a hall table, the dish by the door that started life as an ashtray. This is a small open pot made for that exact job, the catch-all that stops loose change migrating into the sofa cushions and the washing machine. It is deliberately unfussy. A short, open pot rather than a lidded box, with the sort of modest footprint that suits a hall drop-zone, a bedside table, a workshop shelf, or the counter by the till in a small shop. Change is the excuse rather than the limit. The same pot ends up holding guitar picks, hair grips, drawing pins, SD cards, the screws left over from a flat-pack, and all the other small metal things that come out of pockets at the end of a day.
