Loose hardware is the quiet enemy of a tidy bench. Spacers, standoffs and washers end up rattling around in an old margarine tub, and every job starts with a rummage. This is the unglamorous fix: a plain sort tray that gives one common size of part a place of its own. The design is deliberately simple — a shallow open tray with nothing decorative about it, meant to be used rather than admired. It suits a drawer in a workshop chest, the shelf under a printer, or the corner of a desk where builds actually get assembled. Print one and it does a job; print a handful and you have the beginnings of a system, each tray holding a different fitting. A single-file download, and a sensible early print for anyone trying out a new machine on something genuinely useful rather than another test cube.
