Description
Somewhere between a puzzle and an ornament, this is a small container built from the collision of two of the most basic solids — a sphere pushed through a cube, or a cube trying to hold a sphere, depending which way round you read it. The name is refreshingly unbothered about explaining itself. Objects like this earn their keep by being interesting to pick up. It suits a hallway table for keys and loose change, a desk for paperclips and the small metal things that otherwise migrate, or a shelf where it can simply sit and be a shape. The vagueness is a strength: a pure geometric form never really dates, and it reads as comfortably in a bathroom or a home office as it does in a living room.
