EDF stands for electric ducted fan, and a gull is a sensible thing to build one into. Long wings, a compact body, a shape that has been solving the problem of staying up over open water for far longer than aviation has been at it. This is the first version of that idea worked into a printable airframe, and it runs to twenty-one files as a multi-part kit. Designs like this sit between the model-flying bench and the shelf. Printed airframes have become a serious corner of the hobby, and a bird form rather than a jet fuselage gives the finished thing somewhere to go when it is not in the air: wings out on a bracket over a desk, or up on a wall where a gull looks entirely at home. One for model-flying enthusiasts, and for anyone who likes an aircraft with a beak.
