Description
Named for the mathematical pattern that gives it its skin, this desk tidy is a cylinder cut through with irregular cellular openings — the organic, bone-like web that turns up in coral, dragonfly wings and dried mud. No two cells match, so the object never quite repeats itself as you turn it round. On a desk it does the ordinary work of corralling pens, pencils, scissors and the small things that migrate across a workspace, but the open lattice means it reads as a piece of geometry rather than a plain pot. It suits a home office where the rest of the kit is deliberately plain and one sculptural object is enough. It is a common first proper print for people moving past calibration cubes, and an easy thing to give away — makers tend to end up running several once somebody at work spots the first one.
