Description
Anillo is Spanish for ring, and the numeral marks this out as a second pass at the idea. It is a band conceived from the outset to be printed rather than cast, so the decoration is carried by the form itself instead of by stones, settings or engraving. Geometric jewellery of this sort works because it is unapologetic about what it is. There is no attempt to borrow the goldsmith's vocabulary; the appeal lies in a clean profile and the shadow it throws across the back of the hand. Worn alone it reads as quietly minimal, and worn beside plainer bands it is the piece that does the talking. One ring, one file, and a short project for anyone who wants wearable geometry they have made themselves. It is also a reasonable starting point for makers who use printed pieces as masters for casting.
