Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad

The trench regiments of the grim far future are built on one idea — attrition, absorbed without complaint — and their officers reflect it. This command group gathers the men who run a siege line: the commanding officer and the attendants and specialists who follow him along the duckboards, all in the long greatcoats, hoods and respirator gear that define the regiment. The look is First World War infantry pushed into science fiction, and it is why these troops have such a following among painters. Mud, weathered leather and blank mask lenses offer a palette nothing else in the setting quite matches. As a command element the group anchors a larger infantry force, sitting behind the line rather than charging ahead of it. It comes as a multi-part kit at tabletop wargaming scale, suited to proxying an army HQ or to building a trench diorama with a proper centrepiece.
