Description
Seasonal jewellery does not have to be tacky, and the spiderweb is one of the few Halloween motifs that stands up as an actual piece of design: radial spokes, concentric threads, a pattern that stays legible at small size and looks deliberate rather than novelty-shop. These are drop earrings built on that motif, flat and openwork so the web pattern shows through against whatever is behind it. They belong with an October party outfit, a gothic-leaning everyday wardrobe, or a market stall of seasonal makes, and they are the sort of thing that sells through autumn then quietly lives in the jewellery box the rest of the year. One file makes up the download. At its intended size it works as a costume-evening pair; scaled up, the same geometry does duty as a pendant or a hanging window decoration.
