Description

A pocket-sized civic landmark with the gravity of a real public building. This model is a compact neoclassical library rendered as a two-tier temple. A broad square lower storey carries closely spaced vertical pilasters that read like a wrapped colonnade, giving the walls a strong ribbed rhythm on every face. Above it sits a stepped-back cylindrical drum, banded with a plain cornice, capped by a low conical roof that tapers to a clean point. The whole structure rests on a wide, slightly bevelled plinth that lifts it off the tabletop and frames it like a monument on its own square. It is a natural centrepiece for a town-square diorama, an OO/HO or N-gauge model railway, or a fantasy/steampunk city build where you need a grand institution rather than another row of houses. Set it beside terraced shops and it instantly reads as the important building on the street. Print notes: • Prints upright straight off the plinth with the roof cone pointing up; the drum overhang is shallow enough to skip supports on most FDM machines, or add a light tree if your printer struggles with the ring shoulder. • The pilaster grooves are the star feature at scale, so a 0.2 mm layer height (or resin) keeps them crisp. • Scale down to 40–60 mm for railway work or up to a 120 mm display piece; hollow the drum if you plan to add an LED for a lit-window effect. • A grey primer plus a brown wash into the recesses pops the stonework beautifully.
