These are sculpted band rings built around a raised, socketed centre stone — the comic-book power-gem look, repurposed as a rude visual gag that most people will work out about four seconds after they stop admiring the setting. Novelty rings are their own gift category: stag dos, secret santa, the birthday card that badly needs something inside it. This one arrives as a set rather than a single band, so a maker can run off a batch for a group instead of picking one. It is unapologetically a joke piece, but the sculpting takes the jewellery part seriously enough that it reads as a ring first and a punchline second — which is exactly what makes it work.
