Description

A pocket-sized downtown, skyline and all, on a single tidy base. This model is a compact city block — a huddle of modern buildings crowded together on one rectangular plinth. There's real variety in the massing: a stepped tower on the left, mid-rise apartment blocks with rows of punched windows, a wider slab clad in diagonal louvres, and a taller flat-topped high-rise anchoring the right end. A small rooftop plant or cluster of vents breaks the skyline in the middle. It's modelled cleanly and fairly low-poly, so it prints fast and reads well even when shrunk right down. It's made for dioramas and tabletop worlds: a distant skyline behind a model railway, a backdrop for 6mm/N-scale wargaming, a city tile for board-game terrain, or an architectural study piece. Grouped with a few copies you can sketch out a whole downtown. Print notes • Print upright, straight off the base — the building faces are near-vertical, so most gauges need no supports at all. • FDM at 0.2mm handles this happily; drop to 0.12mm if you want the window rows to stay legible at small scale. • Scale to your gauge before slicing (N, HO, 6mm, 15mm) and check the smallest window mullions survive the shrink. • Prime grey, then dry-brush lighter tones over the recessed windows and a wash in the shadows to make the facades read as glass and concrete.
