Barded Owlbear War-Beast - Tabletop Miniature

An owlbear in army harness: hooked beak, enormous forward-facing eyes in a wide flat feathered face, an owl's skull and mantle running back into the bulk of a bear on four plantigrade paws, and not a wing anywhere on it. He stands four-square on a round plinth of shattered siege rubble, all four broad soles planted flat inside his own body line, a long low wedge heavier at the ground than at the shoulder. The barding is slab-cut iron in thick overlapping plates, grey-green paint flaking back along the ridges to bare steel, oxide-orange rust in every hollow, fat dome rivets, a coarse mail apron slung under the belly. A cage muzzle of blunt flat bar stock is bolted to a studded collar of slab oxhide with squat iron tongue-buckles, and a short heavy chain stub hangs from the collar ring with its last link fused flat to the shoulder plate. Contour feathers are cut as broad barred lozenges in ash-brown and soot-charcoal with oat-grey edges, dust-matte and road-filthy; the body pelt reads as coarse felted rope crushed shiny where the harness rubs. A brand scar sits oxblood-red on one shoulder. Underfoot there is a cracked paving slab, a snapped tether stake and a trodden feed pail. He is a legion's living siege engine, kennel-broken and inventoried, standing at muster with the patience of something that knows the drill and is waiting to be let off the collar. The joke is played dead straight: an army got hold of a monster and gave it paperwork. WHAT YOU GET One sculpt, one part. The model was not cut. 206,930 triangles, watertight and manifold. Base is integrated with the figure. Bounding box 79.944 x 100 x 83.282 mm. PRINTING IT The slice reported 310 minutes and 172.07 cm3 of extruded volume. That volume works out to about 80.79 g in PLA — calculated from the volume, not reported by the slicer. Overhangs are 8.36% of the surface and the thinnest wall measures 0.616 mm. It fits the build plate. ASSEMBLY None. Single part, base included, nothing to glue or pin. LICENCE Print it as often as you like for yourself and for gifts.
