Black Templars Storm Shields

Storm shields are the heavy slab defences carried by veteran warriors in power armour: broad, thick-rimmed and built to cover a body rather than parry with. These are drawn for a crusading order of the grimdark far future, one whose warriors carry the trappings of medieval knighthood into a war fought with bolt weapons, so the shields lean chivalric in their shaping and their raised detail. They are accessory pieces rather than whole models. Wargamers use parts like these to give an assault squad a look of its own, to replace plainer stock components, and to build proxy units for crusader-themed lists at tabletop wargaming scale. Anyone converting a shield wall, a bodyguard unit or a line of terminators will get more mileage from a set of these than from any number of shoulder pads.
