Description
A pocket monument, columns and all, ready for the display shelf. This model reconstructs a neoclassical triumphal gate in the spirit of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate: a broad rectangular structure carried on a long screen of freestanding round columns, capped by a heavy stepped entablature and a raised central plinth where a crowning quadriga or statue group would sit. The geometry is clean and slightly stylised rather than fussily ornamented, which is exactly what makes it read well at small scale. Rows of cylindrical columns create deep shadow gaps between the front and back colonnades, and the projecting cornice and attic block give it real presence from across a table. It sits on a flat integrated base, so it stands square without a separate plinth. Think model railway backdrops, wargame city boards, architectural study sets, or a standalone desk piece for anyone with a soft spot for European landmarks. Paint it stone grey and it looks carved; hit it with a dark wash and the columns pop. Print notes • Prints upright on the base with no supports needed for the outer walls; the column undersides may want light supports if you scale it up tall. • FDM at 0.16–0.2mm layers holds the column detail; resin is lovely if you want crisp cornice edges. • Scale freely to match N, HO or OO layouts, or blow it up for a chunky mantel ornament. • A primer-and-drybrush stone finish flatters the flat facades far more than bare filament.
