Headgear does most of the characterisation on a warlord model, and this is armour for a commander who has been at war long enough, and close enough to the warp, for his wargear to start advertising his ambition. The register is brutal rather than noble: closed, imposing, built to unsettle whoever is standing opposite. A head swap is the cheapest conversion going. Used on a proxy champion, a converted terminator lord or an existing centrepiece, a helm in this vein turns an anonymous armoured body into someone who plainly gives the orders, and it hands the painter an obvious focal point at eye height. Aimed at kitbashers assembling a traitor warband, at 28mm collectors who buy characters rather than units, and at anyone who wants the figure leading their force to look like nothing else on the table.
