Dark Angels Ravenwing Bikers

Bike squads change the way an army moves. While the rest of a Chapter grinds forward, riders like these sweep wide, hit a flank and are gone again before the return fire finds them — the mounted wing of a secretive knightly order, used as its scouts and its hunting pack in equal measure. As modelling subjects, bikes are more interesting than infantry. There is a rider and a machine to balance against one another, speed has to be conveyed by a sculpt that never moves, and the pairing hands a painter two entirely different surfaces to solve: armour on one, engine on the other. Supplied as a multi-part kit at 28mm, it fills the fast-attack slot in a grimdark force and gives a collector something for the cabinet that is not another rank of standing marines.
