David Stott Building

A tapering Art Deco tower rendered as a crisp scale-model skyscraper. The model reproduces a classic 1920s setback high-rise — almost certainly the David Stott Building — as a slender, stepped tower that climbs through a series of receding tiers to a narrow crown. Every face is scored with tight vertical piers and ranks of recessed windows, that hallmark ribbed verticality of American Art Deco, and the mass pulls in stage by stage so the silhouette reads as a stack of ever-smaller blocks. The grey render keeps the mullions and window reveals sharp all the way up. It's aimed at model-railway builders, wargamers and diorama makers who need a convincing downtown skyline, plus architecture fans who want a desk-scale monument. Print notes • Print upright; the setbacks form small ledges that FDM bridges cleanly with no supports, keeping the window grid crisp. • Fine detail favours a 0.4 mm nozzle at 0.12–0.16 mm layers, or resin for the sharpest mullions at small scales. • Hollow the interior and add a drain hole if you resin-print it tall, to save material. • Grey primer plus a dark wash pulls out the window recesses; a light dry-brush along the piers lifts the vertical lines.
