Terminator plate hands a sculptor an enormous canvas at the shoulder, and that canvas is the entire subject here: a pair of heavy pads carrying the sort of ornament a Chapter tends to reserve for its veteran elite. The Deathwatch styling points at the setting behind them, where specialists seconded from many different Chapters are thrown together into kill-teams and marked out by their wargear as much as by rank. This is a bits piece for converters rather than a finished miniature. Veterans in heavy armour are the models hobbyists fuss over hardest, so decorated shoulders are the usual route to turning a rank of near-identical troops into named individuals, or giving a bodyguard unit a look nobody else has. The heavy, over-worked aesthetic reads just as well on a corrupted warband, which is where the chaos half of the name comes in.
