Drop Pod

An orbital assault capsule: launched from a ship in low orbit, it comes down hard, cracks open and puts a squad into the middle of somebody else's battle line before anyone has decided what to do about it. The design language is blunt function throughout — armoured hull, heavy petal doors, thruster housings built for one journey — and it sits in the same grim far-future setting as the power-armoured infantry riding inside. On the table it is scenery as much as it is a unit. Landed mid-board it gives an army a reason to be somewhere it has no business being, and it becomes an obvious objective once the fighting moves past it. Supplied as a multi-part kit, it suits painters who like to work in stages, and it is an open invitation to scorch marks and battle damage.
