Description
A whole city block shrunk onto a single base. This grey scale model gathers a run of buildings onto one rectangular plinth: a corner townhouse capped with a pointed turret and tall sash windows, a terrace of shopfronts, a broad low-rise carrying raised lettering that reads "FISK" along its parapet, and — rising above them all — a slab-sided tower block with vertical fluting and a stepped cap. The mix of pitched roofs, flat commercial units and a modern high-rise reads like a slice of a real high street layered up over the decades. Designed as diorama or model-railway scenery, it drops straight into a layout as an instant background block or town centre. The massing is bold and the window recesses deep, so it takes drybrushing, washes and weathering powders well — paint alone transforms the bare print into brick, render, glass and grimy concrete. Print notes: • Sit it on the integral base and it prints upright with minimal supports; a few may help under the tower's cap overhang. • Check the scale against your gauge (N, OO/HO, TT) before slicing and adjust the model uniformly to suit. • Thin window mullions benefit from a 0.12–0.16mm layer height and a slower outer-wall speed. • Prime grey or oxide, block in base colours, then a dark wash into the recesses and a light drybrush on the edges for depth. One print, a full streetscape — ideal for filling the backdrop of a layout or staging a compact urban scene.
