Description
Istanbul's most famous skyline, shrunk to the palm of your hand. This is a scale model of the Hagia Sophia: the great central dome riding on its ringed drum, buttressed by cascading half-domes, with four slender minarets rising from the corners and a tiny crescent finial capping the summit. The whole complex sits on a stepped square plinth, its clustered lower structures, arched windows and buttresses simplified just enough to print cleanly while keeping the building instantly recognisable. It makes a natural centrepiece for a bookshelf, a desk or a travel-souvenir shelf, and it's a satisfying build for architecture students, model-makers and diorama builders. Shrink it down and it drops neatly into a model-railway layout or a wargaming cityscape as a landmark structure. Print notes: • Prints as a single piece straight up off its base — no splitting required at display sizes. • The four minarets are tall and thin; switch on supports for their tips and for any deep window recesses, or print at a scale where the towers stay robust. • FDM handles the massing well from about 100 mm; drop to resin if you want the dome ribs and arcaded details to read crisply at small scale. • A stone-grey or sandstone filament, lightly dry-brushed, brings out the domes and shadow lines beautifully.
