Imperial Fist Captian

A company captain is where a Space Marine force gets its character, and one drawn from the sons of Dorn brings a particular flavour of it. Theirs is a tradition of siegecraft and stubborn defence — trenchwork, breaching, holding a line hours after it should have collapsed — so the figure is a commander of a very unglamorous, very effective kind. As a model he is a centrepiece rather than another body in the squad. Officer figures are where painters spend their evenings: heraldry, cloak, weapon and face all reward slower work than a rank-and-file trooper does, and the pose carries the sense of a man standing where the fighting is worst. For tabletop use he slots in as a proxy commander at standard heroic scale, leading a battleline force or anchoring a narrative game where one figure needs to matter more than the rest.
