Description
The chunky end-fitting that finishes a cosplay katana. Seen head-on as a solid silhouette, this part is a smooth, rounded oblong with a small squared tab breaking the lower edge — the profile of a katana guard or pommel cap rather than a blade. It's the "closer" piece: the rounded fitting that seats against the hilt and caps off the assembly, with the tab acting as a locating key so it drops onto the rest of the build in one orientation. It's meant for cosplayers and prop makers putting together a sectioned katana, giving that satisfying weighty terminal shape where the handle meets the guard. On its own it's small, but it's the detail that makes a printed sword look finished rather than improvised. Print notes • The filename flags it: this one needs supports. Print with the flat mating face down and generate supports under the rounded overhang. • PLA is plenty for a display fitting; bump to PETG if the prop will be handled at events. • Leave or drill a central bore so it slides onto the same dowel/rod running through your hilt and blade. • Clean up the support scars on the curve, prime, then paint to match your guard — a satin black or gunmetal reads well. Check the tab and bore against your other katana pieces before slicing so everything keys together cleanly.
