Lightning Fighter

Squat, blunt-nosed and unmistakably built for atmosphere rather than the void, this is the workhorse interceptor of a grim far-future air arm. The airframe follows the classic pattern: a stubby fuselage swollen around its engine, short swept wings hung with ordnance, a bubble canopy set well forward, and gun ports crowding the nose where subtlety was traded for weight of fire. Its job is air superiority over a warzone, meeting enemy fighters and breaking up bomber runs before they reach the ground columns below. That role shows in the sculpt, which is all armour plate, panel seams, intake grilles and hardpoints rather than sleek aerodynamics. Coming as a multi-part kit, it suits aerial dogfight games, a hangar or airfield board, and display alongside a ground army as the air support that never quite arrives on time.
