Description

A miniature of Chicago's Art Deco Palmolive Building, spire and all. This scale model captures the landmark's signature stepped-setback massing - a broad limestone-look base that climbs in receding tiers to a slender central shaft, crowned by the tall mast that once carried the Lindbergh Beacon. Crisp vertical piers run the full height, throwing the strong light-and-shadow rhythm that makes 1929 Deco towers so recognisable. Printed small, it slots straight into a model-railway skyline, a wargame cityscape, an architectural study shelf or a 'cities I love' desk collection. Group it with other period high-rises for a convincing downtown block, or display it solo as a clean sculptural object. Print notes • The single-mass geometry prints upright with no supports on most machines; only the very tip of the antenna may want a thin support or slower final layers. • For sharp setbacks, keep layer height fine (0.12-0.16 mm) - the stepped tiers are the whole character of the piece. • The needle spire is delicate; print it as-is for display, or thicken/omit it if the model will be handled by gamers. • Matte grey or stone-toned filament reads best; a light drybrush of pale grey on the pier edges pops the vertical lines.
