Description
A two-handed energised blade of the kind that only makes sense when the warrior swinging it is already a head taller than everyone else on the field. In grimdark science fiction the greatsword is a champion's weapon, carried by duellists, honour guards and the sort of commander who fights at the front of the line instead of directing from behind it. This is a conversion piece rather than a finished figure. It is aimed squarely at the kitbasher with a box of spare bodies and an idea for a character no boxed kit covers, because a great blade held in both hands turns an anonymous trooper into somebody with a name and a reputation. At tabletop wargaming scale a strong silhouette does most of the storytelling, and few silhouettes are stronger than a long sword raised two-handed above a suit of heavy armour.
