Primaris Black Templars Set

The crusading orders of grimdark science fiction are its knights: armoured warrior-monks who swore an oath of conquest generations ago and never stood down, prosecuting a war of faith that has long outlived everyone who declared it. Medieval Christendom dragged into a far-future setting, with ritual and zeal standing in for anything resembling doctrine. This set works in that register, gathering figures in the larger, more upright Primaris armour pattern and posing them as heavy infantry on the advance. They read as knights first and soldiers second, which is precisely the appeal of the archetype. At tabletop wargaming scale they serve as the core of a squad or as proxies to bulk out a force already on the table. For a painter they are an invitation to spend real time on the trappings of a knightly order rather than another rank of plain battle plate.
