Primaris Chaplain

Every company of these armoured warrior-monks fields a chaplain, and his job is belief rather than tactics. He walks the line before the fighting starts, performs the rites over the dead once it is finished, and in between acts as a rallying point on the field, the figure the rest of the company looks for when an advance begins to falter. Sculpted at Primaris scale, this is a character model rather than a rank-and-file trooper: a commanding stance, ceremonial dress layered over heavy battle plate, and a hafted weapon carried more like a symbol of office than a tool of war. On the table he anchors an army as its leader instead of padding out a squad, and for a painter he is the obvious centrepiece. If you are building a force around a theme, this is the model that has to carry the mood of it.
